4.22.03 Letter from SUNY CANTON Admissions: "Admissions at SUNY Canton has recently completed 11 nights of telecounseling. This calling is our most recent effort in recruiting prospective students. We made 3,941 calls. These calls were completed by several student clubs and organizations. The purpose was to have current students speak with prospective students. Overall results were extremely positive. Not only do the prospective students appreciate these phone calls, but we were able to ascertain our position among many of the students on our recruit lists, and encourage some new applications. We would like to thank the Student Cooperative Alliance who sponsored a telecounseling contest for Student Clubs and Organizations to help us in calling. The winners of that contest are: 1st Prize, $300: AXO Sorority, Alpha Chi Omicron 2nd Prize, $200: MSA, Mortuary Science Association, 3rd Prize, $100: Brother to Brother. We would also like to thank the following clubs for their participation and help in calling: ZAP, Outing Club, DKS, Delta Kappa Sigma, SOTA, Student Occupational Therapy Assoc. TG, Alpha Theta Gamma and the Criminal Justice Club. We also had help from staff in the following departments: Telecom Information, Technology Maintenance and Community Development. We greatly appreciate everyone's time and effort in helping to make telecounseling a success again this year! Brigitte Simone, Admissions Counselor"
