Your daughter may become a member of Alpha Chi Omicron Sorority, one of the oldest women's organizations at SUNY Canton. We believe that you will appreciate the many advantages that your daughter will experience as a member of Alpha Chi Omicron.	If your daughter is already a member of our organization, here are a few links that may help you shop for her. Purchasing items from our Online Mall or from our Custom AXO Shop, not only helps our organization as a whole, but guarantees a smile when she opens her gift.

Through our organization, your daughter will gain experience and knowledge needed for the real world. She may obtain leadership skills by holding an office within our Chapter, and participating in Community Services and Educational Programming. Our goal is to not only help our surrounding community, but broaden the experiences for every member. 

Outstanding Members

The Outstanding Member Program was founded in the Fall of 2003. The Executive Council honors those members who show an outstanding commitment to the organization, the college and academic excellence. The sister who is chosen will be awarded $50.00 to do with as she pleases. We also present a framed certificate showing their outstanding achievement as an AXO.

Commitment

Sisterhood -- Your daughter's pledge to Alpha Chi Omicron includes dedicating a portion of her time to the Sorority. This includes going to member meetings, Greek Council meetings, community service events and educational programs. Additional activities such as social events and campus events are also scheduled throughout the year.

Responsibilities -- Prior to her initiation, your daughter will complete the following:

• Participate in the new member orientation program.

• Demonstrate the desire and ability to maintain Alpha Chi Omicron's standards of conduct.

• Fulfill her financial obligations.

• Demonstrate her compatibility with the chapter.

Financial Obligations

Before initiation, she will pay a partial initiation fee which includes payment toward orientation fees and member dues. The initiation fee is apportioned as directed by the Sorority and includes orientation fees and partial member dues.

In addition, members pay membership dues each semester to the chapter. Our chapter determines their own membership dues, housing fees and other operating fees. Please contact your daughter's chapter for a complete breakdown of financial obligations.

After graduating, all members are asked to pay annual alumni dues as well as support the organization through donations and gifts.

How You Can Help

The support of a girl's parents are critical to her success within our organization. You will be given opportunities to give gifts in your daughter's honor for leadership education, outstanding member awards, web site support and special events. All gifts to the Corporation, a 501(c)(3), nonprofit, are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by the law.
