The Award

The Outstanding Member Program was founded in the Fall of 2003. Executive Council honors those members who show an outstanding commitment to the organization, the college and academic excellence. The sister who is chosen will be awarded $50.00 to do with as she pleases. We also present a framed certificate showing their outstanding achievement as an AXO.

Eligibility

In order to be considered for the Outstanding Member Award, a member must be full-time active and registered with SUNY Canton for the semester in which she is being nominated. The following requirements must also be met:

  • Show academic excellence by maintaining at least a 3.0 average,

  • Demonstrate unquestionable loyalty to the sisterhood,

  • Participate in all community services, educational programs and fundraising activities, and

  • Demonstrate a high moral outlook.   

Nominate a Member

To nominate a member, send an e-mail and outline the above eligibility requirements with examples of each. Include the member's full-name name, pledge class, position, age, major and plans for the future. Please include your name, pledge class and position.   

Sponsor an Award

Sponsoring an award ensures that an outstanding member will be recognized for her contribution to the organization. Your name will also be listed on our site. To sponsor an award, the Executive Council accepts contributions by Visa and MasterCard. Checks may be made out to Alpha Chi Omicron Incorporated and sent to our Treasurer: Amanda Petroccione, 45&1/2 Pierrepont Avenue, Potsdam, NY 13676.

You will be asked to create an account user name and password. You will be the only one who can edit your personal information. Your gift and information will be passed onto the Corporation for us to update your giving record, giving you credit for your gift. After gifts are made online, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from our Executive Council President. After your records are updated, you will receive an acknowledgement from our Corporate Office.
